Single Component PU

Single component polyurethane sealant, as known as a single component, hydrophilic, water activated, hydro active, expandable, waterstop, is also called single component polyurethane hydrophilic expansion waterproofing sealant. Single component Aqueous Polyurethanes are based on aliphatic resins and exhibit enhanced resistance to U.V. without cracking, peeling or turning yellow.

Single component PU is cross linked and has better resistance to alkalies and mild acids and solvents. When in contact with water, the sealant expands and produces an expanding pressure. The pressure between the expanded sealant and the surrounding concrete structure prevents water penetration through the joint and provides a durable waterproofing solution. Single component PU sealants are moisture-cured and they do not need to be mixed with anything prior application. The required temperature for application is 41°F to 95°F (5°C to 35°C) with a relative humidity of 40-70%. Lower temperatures combined with low humidity will extend the curing time,
